The Reds Vows Not to Abandon Offensive Approach Amid Current Struggles, Declares Arne Slot

The Dutch manager has revealed that the club's hierarchy agree with his assessment regarding the poor performance streak and he refuses to compromise their forward-thinking philosophy in quest for a solution. The manager acknowledged that six defeats in seven matches was below standard ahead of Saturday's match against Aston Villa.

Increasing Scrutiny During Challenging Phase

Liverpool's coach recognized the pressure was on before his makeshift team exited the Carabao Cup against the London club. However, he insisted that this urgency to stop the losing streak is not coming from the team's proprietors or football administration following a significant spending of almost £450m.

"Our views align," stated Slot, whose team next week face the Spanish giants in the European competition and travel to Pep Guardiola's side in the Premier League.

Team Strength Continues Undoubted

Liverpool's manager thinks his team "boast a remarkable roster if they are completely available and fully prepared for the programme we are facing". He mentioned that the transfer window acquisitions in players such as Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, who is probably unavailable again against Villa through fitness issues, had left the club "in an excellent position for the short-term future and the years to come".

Gelling Difficulties

When pressed on why his team were having difficulty blending, he replied: "You don't really help me. 'Why, why, why?' I give an explanation and people say I'm offering alibis. I can list five or six reasons why we are underperforming or losing as much as we do but, as I say every time, there are inadequate reasons to have a results sequence as we had now."

  • Regardless of whether I could list multiple factors
  • Leading this club you must avoid losses
  • In truth six out of seven

Defensive Numbers

Only Burnley (21) have allowed more significant openings from normal situations this season than Liverpool (nineteen). The table-toppers, the Gunners, have allowed just two. Yet Liverpool's coach rejects the team has been overly exposed and claims there is no reason to sacrifice his attacking principles for a more pragmatic style after ten fixtures without a shutout.

"I don't see us giving up numerous openings so I don't see a reason to change our playing style completely but we must improve in preventing goals," he declared.

Specific Instances

"Against Manchester United, how many openings did we give up? Versus the German side when we were ahead by two goals, we hardly conceded a shot on target. In all the games we played until now we haven't given up a many opportunities. Absolutely not. We do allow a somewhat more than the previous campaign but that is related to us being 1-0 down so you take a bit more risk. But overall I don't believe that our issue is that we concede too many chances. Our challenge is we fail to convert the opportunities we generate."
