The First Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft still intends to draw people in with quality releases on its premier subscription.

The Current Inclusions

The duo of games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of horror and action."

Compelling Indie Titles

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Robust Selection of Games

In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are rock solid. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — which makes them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
