Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early names under consideration to succeed Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was sacked on the weekend following the squad's ten-game winless start to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are among the options to be considered by the Wolves leadership.

The manager is presently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a potential obstacle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who made over a century of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is said to be a strong candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves board as they start the search of appointing a fresh manager.
