Our Task Consists of Exclusively Executing' - How Sudan's Brutal Paramilitary Group Conducted a Mass Killing

Warning: This Report Includes Explicit Details of Executions.

Militiamen laugh as they travel on the back of a utility vehicle, speeding alongside a series of several dead bodies and driving facing the setting Sudanese evening sky.

"Look at all this effort. Look at this instance of mass destruction," one shouts.

He beams as he directs the video equipment on his person and his companion combatants, their Rapid Support Forces identification visible: "These people will all be killed this way."

The men are exulting in a massacre that humanitarian officials fear killed in excess of two thousand individuals in the African urban center of al-Fashir in recent weeks.

A City Cut Off from the Outside

After maintaining the community under encirclement for almost an extended period, from the summer the paramilitary force proceeded to consolidate its position and prevent access for the remaining inhabitants.

Orbital photography demonstrate that fighters commenced to erect a massive sand wall - a built-up earthen wall - around the perimeter of el-Fasher, closing roads and preventing aid.

During the encirclement worsened, 78 people were killed in an paramilitary attack on a place of worship on mid-September, while the United Nations said 53 more were murdered in aerial and heavy weapon attacks on a displacement camp in the autumn.

Graphic Footage Shows Defenseless Civilians Executed

By sunrise on October 26th the militia defeated the remaining army strongholds and captured the primary compound in the city, the main facility of the Military Unit, as the military retreated.

One of the most graphic videos to surface and analysed showed the consequences of a mass killing at a university building on the western side of the urban area, where dozens dead bodies were seen spread over the area.

An elderly individual dressed in a robe sat isolated surrounded by the corpses. He turned to look as a fighter carrying with a weapon proceeded descending the staircase in the direction of him. pointing his weapon, the shooter released a single shot at the man, who collapsed to the ground lifeless.

"For what reason is this one still living," one combatant cried. "Shoot this person."

Satellite images recorded on late October indicated to verify that shootings were also carried out on the streets of the city, as reported by a study issued by the university analysis team.

A key witness who communicated stated they had seen "many of our family members being killed - they were assembled in a single location and all murdered."

Militia Officers Seek to Conduct Reputation Management

In the days that ensued from the massacre, RSF leader conceded that his troops had perpetrated "violations" and said the events would be investigated.

Included among arrested was after a report recording his murders. Meticulously choreographed and produced footage posted on the militia's authorized messaging account depict him being led into a cell at a detention facility on the outskirts of el-Fasher.

Simultaneously, the RSF and affiliated digital accounts commenced attempting to alter the story.

Updates depicting its combatants providing assistance to civilians were circulated by some individuals, while the force's communications team released multiple clips allegedly to show the compassionate treatment of government detainees.

Regardless of the digital effort being used by the paramilitary, their activities in el-Fasher have provoked worldwide condemnation.
