David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
